How do I decide if I need an indoor or outdoor table?

Indoor tables are not weather resistant but provide an excellent bounce and are good value for money. However they must not be stored in damp conditions (such as a barn or garage) as exposure to moisture will cause the playing surface to crack. They will also warp if left outside in the sun for only a short period of time. Outdoor tables are more shock resistant and can be safely stored outside all year making them more long lasting.

You can download the product comparison chart from the Compare Products section for more details.

What are the key differences between the cheaper and more expensive table tennis tables?

In the Cornilleau range, as the tables get more expensive, the playing surfaces gets thicker (for better bounce), the legs get sturdier, the frames get heavier, the wheels get larger, the net and post sets have more adjustment plus you get additional features such as a MAT top (on outdoor tables) or a SKIL Top (on indoor tables).

Do you have a range specifically for schools?

Yes, Cornilleau manufactures a variety of tables, both indoor and outdoor, for schools clubs and institutions. Special attention has been given to the sturdiness of the materials to ensure intensive use. There is also a range of bats designed for use in schools.

Do all tables have the facility for solo practice?

All rollaway tables can be used for solo practice - just fold one half of the table which creates a surface for you to play against. Static tables (Pro Evolutive, Pro 510 and Competition 610) are the only ones that do not have this facility.

Can I leave my table tennis table outside all year round?

If you have a Cornilleau outdoor table then the answer is yes. All Cornilleau outdoor tables are resistant to sun, rain, snow and frost and can be left safely outside without any risk of deterioration. We do however recommend the use of a cover. The purpose of the cover is not to keep the table dry but to keep it clean so that it is always ready to play and for additional child safety. It will also extend the life of the table.

Are the tables difficult to assemble?

All tables with the Compact Technology design have the entire security mechanism pre-assembled in the factory which has reduced assembly time by 30%. The assembly instructions are very clear and easy to follow and can be downloaded in advance from this website. Just go to the product you want to purchase and click the Assembly Instructions link. You should allow around 45 minutes for assembly and will need 2 people. An assembly service is also available.

Which tables are suitable for use by disabled players?

All of the tables with the Compact Technology folding system are suitable for use by disabled players as the leg assembly has been designed to allow for a wheelchair under the table.

Are all your tables ITTF approved?

The 740, 640 and 610 Competition tables all have ITTF approval. The ITTF only approve a small number of tables and a full list can be downloaded from their website. Outdoor tables fall outside the guidelines specified for ITTF approval therefore no manufacturer can offer ITTF approved outdoor tables.

Are all your tables full size?

All our tables are manufactured to the regulation (ITTF) size of L2740 x W1525 x H760mm, except the Hobby mini table which is L1360 x W760 x H650mm.

How much space do I need for my table tennis table?

In addition to the size required for the table itself (2.74 x 1.53m) you need to allow around 1.2m at either end of the table and about 0.6m at either side.

How long is my table guaranteed for?

All Cornilleau tables have a 3 year warranty (2 years for Tectonic brand tables). The panels on the outdoor playing surface have a 10 year warranty (3 years for Tectonic tables) against deformation, delamination and disappearance of markings. This warranty is limited to the supply of parts as recognised as defective by Cornilleau.

Where can I get spare parts for my table?

Cornilleau guarantee the availability of spare parts for a minimum of 5 years from the last production date of any table. In reality, spares continue to be available for a much longer period of time. If you require spares for your table, please take a note of the models and serial number (located on a white label on the underside of one of the playing surfaces) and contact us with these details plus a description of the part required.

Important facts

1. Table tennis tables will ship via Freight or "LTL". Tables are palletized and loaded onto a large truck delivered by scheduled appointment to-the-curb of your home. LTL drivers are not required to move the item beyond curbside.

2. When it comes to selecting table tennis tables, the top is an important aspect to consider. Typically, the thicker the top, the better the bounce. 1/2-inch thick tops are fine for residential play; 3/4-inch-thick tops are suitable for international play; international competition table tops run at least 1-inch thick.

3. Surface material is another important feature to consider as you browse table tennis tables. Medium density fiberboard (MDF) is suitable for indoor recreational and at-home play. Outdoor table tennis tables with sealed surfaces such as melamine, laminate, or aluminum are recommended.

4. The rail or apron (also known as edge-banding) of a ping pong table provides additional support and stability, as well as a clean, attractive appearance. A wide variety of materials are used for the rail, ranging from heavy-gauge steel to PVC. Any rail or apron is better than none.

5. Integrated ping pong nets and table tennis net posts are an increasingly popular feature. These nets do not need to be removed from the table tennis table when it is folded for storage.

6. If you're looking to develop your table tennis ability with solo practice, a ping pong table with playback position may be for you. These tables allow one half of the table to be positioned upright to return shots so you can sharpen your skills anytime.

7. Table tennis is also known as ping-pong. In 1903, the Table Tennis Association and the Ping Pong Association, both of England, merged to form "The United Table Tennis and Ping Pong Association," which later became the Table Tennis Association. This laid the groundwork for the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), which is the preeminent governing body for the sport.

8. You'll find that some stiga ping pong tables carry ITTF-approval, as well as tables approved by the USA Table Tennis (USATT).

9. Regulation size for a table tennis playing surface is 9L x 5W feet, standing 30 inches from the floor. A regulation ping pong net measures 72L x 6H inches, extending 6 inches from the table edge on each side.

10. If you're looking for a few good reasons to purchase table tennis tables, consider these: table tennis is great exercise, easy on your body, and fun for all ages, all at an affordable price for something you can enjoy anytime in your own home.
